Overview
T8 is a bicomponent polyester filament made from two polyester components that shrink differently during heat treatment. This creates a three-dimensional helical crimp in the fiber: when the yarn is stretched the crimp opens, and when released it partly recovers, giving the fabric mechanical stretch without spandex. T8 is Anku’s core product, produced on imported Barmag texturing machines for stable elasticity and even dyeing.
Key Features
Natural crimp elasticity
3D helical crimp from two components with different heat shrinkage gives mechanical stretch and recovery.
Spandex-free stretch
Develop stretch fabrics without adding spandex, simplifying fiber composition (not a full replacement for high-stretch spandex fabrics).
Wrinkle resistance and dimensional stability
Polyester’s natural wrinkle resistance plus proper yarn structure and heat setting make garments easier to care for.
Bulkiness and soft hand feel
The crimp structure adds yarn volume and space between fibers for a fuller, softer hand.
Polyester durability
Abrasion resistance, easy care and high strength for daily wear, sports-casual and functional fabrics.
Fabric versatility
For woven and knitted fabrics; stretch, hand feel, drape and style are tuned through yarn specification, fabric structure and finishing.
